Summer 2023 Scholarship Recipient
Kaitlyn Taylor
Kaitlyn Taylor, a high school senior, has been a bassist at Rockit Academy for over a year. Originally self taught, Kaitlyn’s talents have grown exponentially in her year at Rockit.
Kaitlyn explains, “RockIt was probably one of the best things to ever happen to me. Not only has Rockit helped me become a better musician, but it has helped me grow as a person. When I first started playing bass, I never imagined that I’d be the player that I am today, and RockIt helped that become a reality for me. RockIt is a huge part of my life now that I didn’t have a year ago, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”

Spring 2023 Scholarship Recipient
William Blake
William Blake, a senior in high school who plays the piano and alto saxophone, has been in the Rockit program for over six years.
“Over the years, the Rockit Live Academy has been one of the most important aspects of my life and has had an immense impact on me. Ever since my first rehearsal, I felt like Rockit was my home. Joining the program at the young age of ten exposed me to many things that would shape me into the person I am today. Rockit has taught me the importance of discipline, resilience, and how to communicate. These are all things that I value in everyday life, even outside of playing music. The program has also served as one of the biggest sources of socialization in my life. Throughout my time at Rockit, I have met numerous people who I can safely call friends for life, which is incredible. As a scholarship student, I am forever grateful for the opportunities that Rockit has provided me with, and hope to continue to share my talent with the program and keep playing.” – William Blake
